Outside Sales Account Manager
Galco Industrial Electronics, Inc., located in Madison Heights, Michigan, is a leading provider of industrial and commercial electrical and electronic controls, automation and motion products, repair, and engineering services. Galco serves commercial and industrial businesses, contractors, government agencies, institutions, and utilities across the country.
We are currently looking for an Outside Sales Account Manager for the greater Grand Rapids area. This position will be remote. Candidate must live in the Greater Grand Rapids area due to weekly face to face visits.
Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Outside Sales Account Manager is a key member of the Galco sales team. Sales functions include territory management, customer interaction activities, identifying decision makers, making sales calls, uncovering needs, closing sales, and maintaining vendor relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the distributors, manufacturer's rep' organizations and customers (existing and potential) within the designated territory to increase business with existing customers and new customers and new products.
- Responsible for the attainment of direct booking goals and distributor sales and goals for the region.
- Takes ownership of strategy development, including pricing recommendation, for all strategic accounts within the region and secures concurrence of agreed upon strategy from the Director of Sales.
- Responsible for managing accounts, ensuring clients are satisfied and generating new sales opportunities
- Attend sales meetings and other company meetings as requested; may attend industry shows and conventions
- Interact with Galco management, vendors, inside sales, and technical team to develop customer strategies, coordinate follow-up effort, maximize profits, close orders, and ensure efficient and effective project delivery
- Actively participate in sales meetings and reporting on sales goals, forecasting, and wins
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of field sales leadership experience in the electronics / distribution industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of sales, purchasing, operations, systems, vendors, product and operations.
- Exhibits exceptional knowledge of company products and services.
- Demonstrates persuasiveness, tenacity, and strong selling skills.
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills.
- Exhibits strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Must be organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to travel up to 75% required.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license, safe driving record, and be insurable by the company’s liability carrier.
