This position is fulltime, on site at our Madison Heights office.
In this role, you are responsible for managing and executing all daily replenishment for assigned branch locations. In addition to replenishment processing, this role will involve evaluation of supplier performance, direct interaction with suppliers and decision-making regarding inventory levels and buying strategy This person will collaborate with multiple departments and remote personnel to ensure accuracy and efficiency while operating within the Finance and Operations teams. The Purchasing Agent reports to the Director of Procurement and Strategic Sourcing Responsibilities:
Executing recommended purchases from direct customer demand and inventory requirements generation for all branch locations
Generating all cross-location transfer processing
Fostering positive, effective relationships with designated suppliers
Staying apprised of all changes occurring with designated suppliers. Including but not limited to: Price changes, product launches, product obsolescence, contact changes
Working with Materials Coordinator(s) and warehouse personnel to manage customer and supplier returns for branch locations
Daily intradepartmental interaction to ensure all department tasks are covered and best practices are maintained
Utilize supplier portals and other tools for order processing as well as gathering critical information pertaining to pricing, delivery, and technical tools
Share observations with department Supervisor, Director and Operations analysts to help foster continuous improvement
Participate in cross-departmental projects to improve general operational efficiencies

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business field preferred
Experience with Distribution preferred
Experience with Prophet 21 ERP System a plus
Strong Team building and project management skills
